Ven Circumnavigation

On Monday 13th of August, my last day of holidays before starting work at a kayak shop, Mark & I set out on our first circumnavigation. Ven is a small island in Øresund between Denmark & Sweden, and is part of Sweden, so an international one day trip was started :-)

The weather was great, clear blue skies, very little wind & warm water paddling.
The crossing from Vedbæk harbour to Norreborg is around 10.5Km and took around 1hour & 45 minutes including a pause to wait for ships to pass in the sealanes associated with Copenhagen harbour.

We ate lunch on the beach and enjoyed the warmth of the sun. We found a good little camping spot for future trips as well.

On the eastern side of Ven, a large car transport ship passed pushing a swell of arount 1.7m our way, a great ride........

Before heading back to vedbæk, we took a break on the stone beach on the western side of Ven. Coffee was brewed & cakes were eaten, just the way to prepare for a little bit of a bumpy ride home.....
